Hobby Craft: Gaming Table

This short article will cover how we (myself and the Axis player from previous Batreps) at Clash at Zverograd solved are table space issue to create a full 6′ by 4′ board over lay with inexpensive items and not a lot technical know how.  So if you need a 6’x4′ table top and only want to spend about $35 American, you could do worst than this how-to.

Dust Warfare Batrep: Axis vs. SSU 300 AP (March Battle)

Once again I bring a battle report between my friend and I.  The way we are doing these is the loser of the previous game gets to select either the custom scenario or the Battle Builder we use for the next game.  So my friend (the Axis player) picked the March Battle custom scenario from the Core Rulebook on page 72.

CaZ Dust Warfare House Rules

As previously mentioned in my last battle report, I have introduced House Rules into my games of Dust Warfare.  Now I come form the world of pen and paper role-playing games where it is so commonplace for a game to have house rules that I pretty much expect it every time a create a character.  However, when I started miniature war gaming less than a year and a half ago, I discovered that most war gaming players don’t seem to like having house rules.   I know some of the arguments behind this thinking, but I generally disagree as they would be the same in a rpg and that doesn’t harm those players (much).  However, that is for another time.  This is an article on the house rules I am using.

Dust Warfare Batrep 300 Points Axis vs. SSU

Once again I have managed to play a game of Dust Warfare.  I think for the next little bit, I will manage to get in a game with some regularity as my friend and I managed to construct a collapsible 6′ x 4′ table top to play at his house.  This time, the battle report has lots of pictures.

Dust Warfare Batrep 300 Points Axis vs. SSU

When it rains, it pours, kinda.  I managed to get in a second game of Dust Warfare this week, and this time it was on a full sized gaming table.  Once again myself and my friend, in which this was his first time on a 6’x4′ table and to the Friendly Local Gaming Shop (Olympic Cards and Comics in Lacy, Washington, U.S.A.).  Once again I played the SSU and he played the Axis.

Dust Warfare Batrep 150 Points Axis vs. SSU

I actually managed to get in a game of Dust Warfare for the first time in, well, a long time.  It was sort of weird playing it after playing Dust Battlefield.  It was sort strange to not start the game with the entire army off the table and not pass back and forth activations beyond Reactions that worked every time.  The biggest thing to readjust to was how though everything is.  Dust Warfare makes units feel like they have actual armor compared to Dust Battlefield.
