Deadzone Battle Report: Asterians vs. Peacemakers (Enforcers)

I played a bunch of games of Deadzone today all the while playing different permutations of the Asterians.  My opponent stuck with the Peacemakers (Enforcers).  Most of the games we played were losses for the Asterians.  However, things changed for the game I actually decided to take pictures and write up a battle report.

Deadzone: My favorite Rebs Strike Team

Last but not leas–… actually, yeah, quite easily least is the Rebs.  This faction is bizarre.  They seem like an easy fan favorite with the shear variety they have with their units.  Even the touted more hit and run style of game play they were intended to have makes them all the more sad that they just don’t work very well.

Deadzone: My First Forge Father Strike Team

Once again I am writing a Deadzone article.  This time I want to cover my other new faction the Forge Fathers.  I actually built these models and put some paint on the well before I started work on my Asterians.  In big part because I already had a paint scheme in mind.  The other reason was they were so much easier to build and clean up since the models are much bulkier.

Deadzone: My First Asterian Strike Team and Favorite Strike Team

I think I am going to try to make this Deadzone week continuing on with the Asterians.  At the time of this writing my Asterian models have only been built for a couple of weeks.  I still haven’t completely finished the base coat phase of painting (which shows in the pictures).  However, I want to give my initial thoughts on how I plan on going about field this faction.  Keep in mind I only have the starter and I don’t want to proxy anything.

Edit: I have sine had a chance to play the Asterians and have now been able to comment on some of the unite.  I even have created a favorite strike team as this faction is quickly becoming my go to choice.

Deadzone: My favorite Enforcer Strike Team

Continuing on with some more Deadzone, I have decided to review my preferred Enforcer strike team.  I have split my two starter amounts in to two separate factions on there own just like I did with the Plague.  I only have the starter Enforcers however making their choices fairly limited.

Deadzone: My Favorite Plague Strike Team

Plague 001 photo Plague001-1.jpg

Recently my friends and I gone back to playing Deadzone.  I have also finally built and put at least some paint on my Asterians and Forge Father sets.  This article however will be about my favorite Plague strike team.  It may not be the best optimized team that I could create, but I happen to like it.

Strategies and Tactics: Combined Arms

The idea of combined arms is taking differing weapon platforms, such as infantry and tanks, to support each other to minimize the inherent weaknesses of each while maximizing the strengths of both.  These different arms are combined to allow them to support one another.  In this article, I will go over some of my basic thoughts on how to make use of combined arms in table top war gaming.  Once again, I will attempt to keep this Strategies and Tactics article fairly system agnostic, but I will make references to games that I am familiar with (Dust, Bolt Action, Deadzone, even D&D).

My Bolt Action United States Army WIP Part II

I wanted to show an update to the work I have done on my Bolt Action Army.  It has been a under over a month an half since the first post on this project and I think I am somewhere around 3/4 done with the stuff you see here.

Bolt Action Review

Now that I have read over the whole rule book and played nearly a half a dozen games I think I can write a full review to Warlord Games’ World War II based miniatures war game Bolt Action.  I want to preface this review that I do actually like this game despite the tone of this review in places.  I want to create a fairly critical review as I know before I got into this game (as well as many others) are hard to find.  Too often I encountered, “This game is awesome.” or “This game sucks.” reviews with little in the way of nuisance beyond a straight explanation of the game mechanics.  I intend my review to avoid that.  I don’t want to get too bogged down in how the game works, but more on my opinion about said mechanics (mostly the ones I like or dislike) and what I think of them.
