Field Maneuvers: Split Firing

In this Field Maneuvers article, I will go over my thoughts on when to consider splitting up the different attacks of a unit onto multiple targets.  This tactic is also know as split firing.  Used properly, it can be a potent tactic that will maximize your army’s use of firepower helping you win the battle.  Used improperly, if can frustrate you as you seem to be throwing away attacks and getting no results.

Field Maneuvers: Campaign Book: Icarus and Achilles Fortifications

In this Field Maneuvers article, I will finish up the rest of the Fortifications options that currently exist in Dust Warfare.  In addition to the Dust Warfare Core Rulebook, there are Fortifications found in Campaign Book: Icarus and Campaign Book: Achilles.  In Icarus, the Fortifications largely focus on countering air power with an additional one to aid the commanders of flyers.  In Achilles, the new Fortifications correspond to the new unit type (and model) found in all three blocs: the strong-point/bunker.

In war gaming in general and in Dust Warfare specifically, how you construct you army is a solo mini-game or puzzle unto itself especially with the platoon force organization.  Now that Dust Warfare has four campaign books (3 phyiscal, 1 pdf) in addition to the core rule book and there are more than a hundred units across the three blocs. Not only that, the game will only continue to add more units and possibly additional blocs. In this article, I will go over how I construct my armies for play in Dust Warfare.  I hope it will get you some insight on how to build your own.
