Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Kv-47 “Nadya”, “Natalya”, and “Natasha”

The KV-47 is the workhorse of the SSU with nearly a full alphabet of variants including the new Vehicle 2 (V2) models as well as the Air Assault models. However, in this article, I will only be talking about the earliest models of the KV-47A “Nadya”, KV-47N “Natasha”, and KV-47C “Natalya”.

Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Axis Sturmpioniere

The Wehrmacht Assault Engineer Squad or Sturmpioniere were for the longest time the Axis’s only Flamethrower infantry unit.  Unlike like their Allies (BBQ Squad) and SSU (Fakyeli) counterparts, they are not equipped with shotguns.  They are of equal point cost however.  In this article I will going over the skills, weapons, and other topics on this infantry squad.

Deadzone Mercenary Review: Recon Unit N32-19

He is an Enforcer Pathfinder.  Pathfinders are the scouts and recon arm of the Enforcers tasked with gathering intelligence that can’t be acquired any way else.  They try to avoid combats.  Not because they are poorly trained and equipped, but as that is not they mission.  Recon Unit N32-19 is a particularly adept Pathfinder experienced in dealing with the Plague.

Deadzone Mercenary Review: The Survivor

Before the outbreak, the Survivor had another name, Slobodan Chovyek.  Before the Plague, it was scientific technician.  That seems like a lifetime ago.  The Survivor has been infected with the Plague.  Unlike most victims, his body seems to have some resistance to the alien disease, though; he is not fully immune.  He wears a fully enclosed haz-suit to slow change even more in hopes of finding a cure.  Until then, he is neither Humanity nor Plague able to work with both to find the cure.

Deadzone Faction Inspection: Asterians Starter Units

Mysterious and aloof this species has few dealings with the Galactic Co Prosperity Sphere (GCPS) who know almost nothing about them.  The Asterians are a highly technological species and shun bloodshed to the point that few of their warriors engage in battle in the flesh to prevent the highly valued loss of life.  The Asterians seem to value balance.  Their only interest in many of these Deadzones is to prevent further spread of the Plague and exploration of the Death Arc, an ancient piece of the galaxy that many seek to exploit for the treasures and resources found within.

Dreadball Defensive Setups

I want to show some of the setups I use in Dreadball when I’m the away team.  I will cover some the reasons why I would use these setups and why I wouldn’t as well.  I want to also note that the pictures I am using feature the Forge Fathers and the Marauders simply because they are my current most photogenic miniatures.  The defensive plays I am going over aren’t necessarily good for these teams. I just use these models because they look nicer than my other teams at the moment.

Deadzone: My First Forge Father Strike Team

Once again I am writing a Deadzone article.  This time I want to cover my other new faction the Forge Fathers.  I actually built these models and put some paint on the well before I started work on my Asterians.  In big part because I already had a paint scheme in mind.  The other reason was they were so much easier to build and clean up since the models are much bulkier.

Deadzone: My First Asterian Strike Team and Favorite Strike Team

I think I am going to try to make this Deadzone week continuing on with the Asterians.  At the time of this writing my Asterian models have only been built for a couple of weeks.  I still haven’t completely finished the base coat phase of painting (which shows in the pictures).  However, I want to give my initial thoughts on how I plan on going about field this faction.  Keep in mind I only have the starter and I don’t want to proxy anything.

Edit: I have sine had a chance to play the Asterians and have now been able to comment on some of the unite.  I even have created a favorite strike team as this faction is quickly becoming my go to choice.

Deadzone: My favorite Enforcer Strike Team

Continuing on with some more Deadzone, I have decided to review my preferred Enforcer strike team.  I have split my two starter amounts in to two separate factions on there own just like I did with the Plague.  I only have the starter Enforcers however making their choices fairly limited.

Editorial: Weapon Ranges and Scale

This article is going to be a bit different than the usual unit or game review that I tend to write.  It will cover my preference for weapon range and model scale that I have found that I like in miniature war games.  For those interested, but not so interested to read the rest of this, I like 28mm to 1:48 scale with extremely shortened ranges (most weapons having a range under 36″ to 48″).  The rest of the article will go into this in more depth.
