Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Axis Hero Angela

Angela is the Axis’s top sniper and perhaps the world’s best shooter. It is rumored that she was the one that pulled the tripper that assassinated the Furor.  She is a very dangerous assassin and no sane member of the Wehrmacht wants to work too closely with her.

This article will be about the Axis hero sniper Angela covering her stats, some tactical ideas, and my own opinions on how good of a unit she is in Dust Battlefield.

Dust Battlefield Battle Summary: 150 Points SSU vs. Axis

This won’t be nearly as detailed as my other battle reports.  It will be more a summary of the game.  Today I played another new-ish player to our gaming group who fielded an Axis Force while I went with a SSU one.

Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Axis Heavy Recon Grenadiers (a.k.a. The Panzers)

The Axis was in need of power armor after several conflicts against the Allies were decided upon by their, at the time, new personal battle suits worn by such squads as the Grim Reapers and Tank Busters.  Axis commanders demanded research on similar suits that would turn their men into walking tanks.  Schwer armor was the creation of these demands.  The Axis armor proved to be far heavier and less mobile than the flight capable XM-22 armor of the Allies.  However, Schwer armor also boasted far more protective capability of the wearer which Axis generals more than happy to equip their rapidly dwindling supple of fighting men.

This article with review the stats and weapons of the Heavy Recon Grenadiers now known as the Panzers in Dust Battlefield.  It will also cover the Axis Heavy Grenadier Platoon which the Heavy Recon Grenadiers can be part of.  Additionally, I will review the Axis hero that may join this squad.  I will also cover the roles and some tactics I think the Heavy Recon Grenadiers can best be used for.  Finally, I want to give my general thoughts and opinions about this particular squad as they compared to both Axis and other bloc’s units.

Dust Battlefield 150 Point Battle Report Allies vs. Axis

This battle report is more like our standard games at Olympic Cards and Comics in Lacy Washington, U.S.A.  It was at our gaming group’s standard of 150 points.  However, once again it was a custom mission scenario.   I was playing the Allies this time around.  This was due to me painting another Allies player’s stuff and not wanting to lug several boxes of models to the gaming store in addition to my ever expanding terrain.

Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Axis Zombies

The Axis is becoming desperate for soldiers after nearly a decade of war.  The bloc has turned to its weird science division the Blutkreuz, or Blood Cross, for solutions no matter how extreme.  The mad scientists have turned to infusing their very own troops with a serum named Wiederbelebungseserum. Roughly translated it means, “once again revived serum.”  Most soldiers never rise again even with the serum coursing through their veins.  An extremely small amount retain at least part of their intelligence though many times their personality is greatly altered.  In most cases, the few undead that do come back are mindless brutes as dangerous to their handlers as they are to the enemy.

This article will review the Axis Zombies (or just Zombies in Dust Battlefield).  I will go over the Zombies’ stats and skills, the heroes that best work with them, the Axis Zombie Swarm Platoon, some roles and tactics, and my overall thoughts and opinions to one of the creepiest units in Dust.

Dust Battlefield 75 Point Allies vs. Axis Demo Battle Report

Once again we had a new player show up to our gaming group at Olympic Cards and Comics in Lacy, Washington, U.S.A.   However, unlike last week I was not the one that played the new player.  I wanted to both show off my newly painted terrain (which still needs a lot work) and practice on writing up battle reports for Dust Battlefield since I wasn’t super happy with last weeks.  In today’s game it was the Allies versus the Axis in a 75 point game with many units based out of the Starter Boxes.

Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Axis Hero Markus

Markus represents the most successful attempt in the Kampfaffe division of the Blutkreuz.  In fact, even his handlers don’t know exactly how successful they were in increasing the  gorilla’s intelligence.  How effect his Markus in Dust Battlefield?  This article will cover my opinions on the gorilla Axis hero Markus stats and role as well as the Axis Gorilla Platoon that he can lead.

Dust Battlefield 100pt Demo Game Battle Report

I had the game to play a demo game with a new player today in Dust Battlefield.  He spoke with me last weekend about getting into Dust.  We managed it this weekend.  I provided both army lists with this input that he liked the gorillas.  Normally, I wouldn’t conduct a demo game at 100 points.  I prefer about 55 to 75 points usually built around the faction starter as it is the more common way to get into Dust these days.  However, because this new player stated they wanted Gorillas, I wanted to make sure to have a full Gorilla Platoon to give him all the options for them.  I also designed the list to be fairly straight froward in terms of special abilities and skills picking units that didn’t really have any.

Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Horten Fledermaus “Alder” and “Blitz”

These are the latest in the next generation design of German warplane.  The Horten engineered single seat jet VTOL fighters are equipped some of the high tech weapons in the Dust world.  These are units are Aircraft 2 (A2) like the earlier Fledermaus jets as well as the Allies own Pelican design.  In this article I will go over some of the features of these two jets and discuss my thoughts to their use.

Dust Battlefield Unit Assessment: Axis Konigsluther and Sturmluther

Technically, the Allies Heavy Assault Walkers are bigger, but I always consider the Axis Schwerer Panzerkampflaufers to be the monsters of Dust.  Hands down there is no other gun my find more visually intimidating that the Konigsluther’s 12.8 centimeter FPKZW.  Even the Sturmkonig appears to be armed with 4 heavy guns that wouldn’t look out of place as the main cannon on a heavy battle tank.  Sometimes looks can be deceiving.  This article will cover the Axis’s Vehicle 7 (V7) units including some of the basic stats of each, some roles and tacks, as well as; my opinions of these walking terrors.
